  • An Initiative of the Schenkung Sammlung Hoffmann (April 14, 2024, to May 31, 2024) at Künstlergut Prösitz in collaboration with SKD (State Art Collections Dresden)

    Immersing in the sonic landscape of the A14 motorway, a collective of sound artists embarks on a creative journey, drawing inspiration from Rivka Rinn's video, "Accelerated Heavens." A group will respond to the noise of the A14 motorway with sound works, starting April 14. Among them Anna Schimkat who together with Christina Stark will discuss their work on April 24th at 5pm at Künstlergut Prösitz.

  • ODP Gallery is looking for interns for a period of 6 weeks to 2 months between April and July.

    ODP Internship program is aimed at those who would like to learn about the functioning of the art gallery. Depending on the interests of the intern, we tailor the educational program that is carried out during our collaboration. During the internship, participants will have the opportunity to gain insight into, among other things, the basic elements of coordinating, creating and evaluating an art and culture project. In addition, the intern will have the opportunity to learn about the programming of artistic events, the organization of art exhibitions, online publication work and administrative work. They will also have the opportunity to undertake exhibition supervision and create exhibition text and promotion.

    ODP Internship offers work experience, enrichment of knowledge in relation to Art and the possibility of permanent employment after the internship period.

BEACH - opening of the first exhibition in 2024

    In the first issue of Quarterly you will have the pleasure to read, among others, a text by Viktoria Sophie Conzelmann and an interview with Marta Pohlamann-Kryszkiewicz conducted by Hanna Tokaj. All this surrounded by meticulously selected works by the Artists. The Quarterly edition will be available in both physical form in the gallery and as a PDF download on the gallery website.

  • Last chance to see Viktoria Sophie Conzelmann's first solo exhibition, 'NOT QUIET YET'!

    We cordially invite you to visit us on 08.12 and delve into the universe of 'NOT QUIET YET'!

    Upcoming Friday (08.12) will be the final day to get a glimpse of the artist's works and the art world she has built at the ODP Gallery. Conzelmann's works were created using organic, transitional and solid materials. Some of the featured works were inspired by the artist's garden, which gives them an intimate dimension.

    On the last day, the gallery will be open from 1 PM to 6 PM. Around 5 PM, the gallery will host the artist herself, who will be happy to deepen visitors' perspectives with her observations over a cup of warm tea. Throughout the day, Conzelmann's publication can also be found and purchased in the gallery space.

Nina Hannah Kornatz: new works at paper positions berlin

  • Vom 27. – 30. April 2023 präsentiert die siebte Ausgabe der paper positions berlin herausragende Positionen aus zeitgenössischer und moderner Kunst mit dem Fokus auf Zeichnung und dem Material Papier.

    Auch Nina Hannah Kornatz wurde eingeladen, um Arbeiten aus ihrer neuen Serie „Parade“ zeigen zu können. Eine Preview befindet sich bereits auf ihrer neuen Website https://ninahannahkornatz.de/.

    Die Zeichnungen entstanden nach einem Flomarktfund alter Schwarzweiß Fotos eines Seifenkistenrennens in der ehemaligen DDR. Besonders faszinierte sie der Einblick in die Alltagskultur und die liebevolle Art des Fotografen, die Veranstaltung festzuhalten. Gezeichnet auf alten Postumschlägen, sind die Arbeiten mehr Objekt als Zeichnung.

    Anna schreibt: As you might know, I´m currently based in Brooklyn where I have the chance to use an interim studio space at the International Studio and Curatorial Program (ISCP). Here I´m following the sound of the thread of textile craft skills that German (Saxon) immigrants brought with them to the United States in the early 20 century. After the funding from Stiftung Kunstfond ended this project will get more support through the Cultural Foundation of Saxony. I´ll get the travel grant for New York from January 2023 to June 2023 and I´m very grateful for this. Come by to see the work in progress at the Open Studio at ISCP Friday 18th November from 6pm to 9pm and Saturday from 2pm to 7pm. // Wie ihr vielleicht wisst, wir sind zur Zeit in Brooklyn und ich hatte die Möglichkeit einer Interims Nutzung eines Studios am ISCP New York. Hier folge ich den Fäden sächsischer Immigranten, die ihre handwerklichen Fähigkeiten im frühen 20. Jahrhundert in die USA exportierten. Nachdem meine Förderung der Stiftung Kunstfond nun ausgelaufen ist freue ich mich über mehr Support für diese Projekt durch die Kulturstiftung des Freistaates Sachsen. Ich habe dankenswerterweise das Residenzstipendium für New York von Januar bis Juni 23 zugesprochen bekommen. Kommt vorbei uns schaut euch den Arbeitsstand wärend des Open Studios im ISCP am Freitag, den 18.11. zwischen 18 und 21Uhr oder am Samstag von 14 bis 19 Uhr an.

    A VOCHEL WO RED (translates into "A bird who talks" from the German Hessian dialect) is a conceptual album that deals with the tradition of animal voice imitation. It focuses exemplarily on bird calls, as these are used extensively for species identification.
    Schimkat and Barthel take up the acoustic fabric of nature noises, try to penetrate the huge storage of information it contains and reinterpret it by means of abstraction with noises, field recordings, text-recognition software, voices, recorders, birdcage and birdseed, as well as a prepared turntable. Twelve compositions of electroacoustic music and sound poetry.

    Es geht wieder los! Ab dem 20. März 2021 ist die Galerie ODP für Besucher*innen geöffnet. Termine zu unseren üblichen Öffnungszeiten müssen vorher per E-Mail vereinbart werden.
    Wir zeigen die verlängerte Ausstellung PLASTIK von Jakob Limmer.
    Mit seinen Objekten stellt Limmer die Frage nach Funktion und Dysfunktion und erzeugt durch die Transformation, Umkehrung und Dysfunktionalisierung dieser Objekte deren Aufladung mit körperlichen Eigenschaften. Besonders mit Künstlichkeit assoziiertes Material bekommt die Rolle von Körperlichkeit zugesprochen: Plastik wird Körper.

    Die Ausstellung ist noch bis zum 03. April 2021 zu sehen. Für alle Besucher*innen und unser Personal gelten die üblichen Hygiene- und Abstandsregeln. Wir freuen uns auf Ihren Besuch!

  • Aufführung und Installation

    Kirchenglocken strukturieren das Leben in christlichen Gebieten seit Jahrhunderten akustisch. Ob sie zum Gebet rufen, als Sturmwarnung, Zeitmesser oder Friedensglocke läuten, sie sind Teil der Kultur- und Kommunikationsgeschichte.

    In Sachsen wurden im ersten und zweiten Weltkrieg mehr als 3.000 Bronzeglocken eingezogen, um daraus Kanonenrohre und Munitionsteile zu gießen. So weit möglich erstanden die Gemeinden in den Nachkriegsjahren neue Glocken, die jedoch des Geld- und Materialmangels wegen aus minderwertigem Stahl hergestellt wurden.Damit geht ein Klangunterschied einher. Sie sind dicker und kleiner als Bronzeglocken und deshalb heller und blecherner im Ton. So änderte sich der Klang der Glocken von Mutzschen von es-g-b (Es-Dur) zu fis-ais-cis (Fis-Dur). Diese Veränderung erfährt in der Performance und Installation eine partizipative und bildhauerische Würdigung. Gemeinsam mit der Jungen Gemeinde und Bürger*innen von Mutzschen wird der Kirchenchor die Variationen über es-g-b und fis-ais-cis in einer Raumkomposition zur Aufführung bringen.

    Als visuell-akustisches Pendant wird es gleichzeitig auf dem Marktplatz vor der Kirche unter den drei Buchstaben PAX, die im Winkeralphabet als Signalflaggen an einer Gerüstinstallation angebracht sind, tönen, pfeifen, quietschen und rasseln. „Make some Noise for Peace" ist hier der Wahlspruch, der die kinetische Installation laut werden lässt.

    Das Projekt „Die Glocken von Mutzschen" ist Preisträger des Kunstwettbewerbes im Rahmen des Projektes 180 Ideen für Sachsen der Staatlichen Kunstsammlungen Dresden, das durch die Kulturstiftung des Bundes und den Freistaat Sachsen gefördert wird.
